Our first full day in New York City was a great success! The group split up for the morning and all went to see different parts of Midtown Manhattan. Many went to see all the various stores around Times Square and Rockefeller Center. After a morning of exploration, it was time to get ready for the concert. We warmed up and rehearsed both in one of our hotel rooms (tight fit!) and right outside St. Patrick’s Cathedral, where we drew a small crowd of excited spectators!
The concert itself St. Patrick’s Cathedral is a wonderful space, and it was truly an honor to be able to perform there. We ran most of our repertoire, save for a few tunes which we would perform later in the day.
After the concert, we had a slight interim where the guys grabbed dinner, and then it was off to sing for the Pitt is It Chancellor’s Reception in New York. We sang the rest of the repertoire we didn’t sing earlier, then mingled with some of the Pitt Alumni there and had some delicious hors d’oeuvres!
Check back tomorrow for updates on our second full and final day in NYC and our concert at Trinity Wall Street!
